We paid a visit to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. We were unsure about how much change there would be in one year. We walked to the Winter/Horbelt exhibition that is in the Longside Gallery.

Thirty four years ago I went to the Isle of Wight festival. Today I came back from the Leeds festival (I went for the day) the first one I have been to since the seventies.
With the road to Rhiw closed we saw this view rather frequently. I love to run on this beach watching the birds feeding as the tide comes in and looking at the flotsam and jetsam.
Today we went for a twenty five mile ride in cool but sunny conditions. Plas yn Rhiw, Bodlondeb, Rhyd y clafdy, and then on to the really minor roads to Dinas and on to Llaniestyn and Botwnrog. The roads here have grass growing in the middle and are as close to being off road when you are on road if you know what I mean.
It rained nearlly all day yesterday. Kate used the clay she had found on the Hell’s mouth beach to create a sculpture of an elephant. Lynne and I went for a walk in the evening when it had stopped raining.
I am getting the hang of this holiday thing, I think. You do what you want.
We would have been proud to have constructed this.
Lynne and I set off for a ride in perfect conditions – Aberdaron, Tudweiliog, Botwnnog and back to Rhiew by the steep hill by the side of Plas yn Rhiew. It would have been a great ride if we had been looking at the view but we were having one of those meaningful discussions that married people have and so missed many of the delights of the scenery. We did pass this church that is interesting for its round tower.
These are some of the photographs

I woke up to the sounds of twenty or so Curlews feeding in the field below my window and I watchd hares playing games close to the house. Lynne and I went for a twenty five mile cycle ride. The weather was a little gloomy but it did not rain.

I cycled past a man that could best be described as a Welsh haystack, he had the broadest smile I had seen for a while. Fifty metres of cycling later I met his friend coming round a bend in the road. A photograph of him can be seen by clicking on this link.

We arrived at the cottage in Rhiw and could immediately sunbathe.
It rained so much in the morning that the mill pond looked in danger of overflowing.
I went for an early morning ride from the house. I deviated from my normal route and came across the objects shown in the photograph. I am embarrased to say that I have never noticed them before. They are on the map as Robin Hood’s Picking Rods a search revealed the following.
A family day out. We are only going to get one day together, this summer holiday, so we tried to make it a good one.
I have been putting this off for a while now. I needed to do it for a number of reasons the main one being that I was having to remove spam comments about breast and penis enlargement.

There are many better qualifed than myself to judge the merits of a cafe. The ladies in my life consider this to be one of the best. Elton Cafe gets maximum points at the weekend and nil during the week as it is not open. We did this ride a year ago and took photographs but not of the cafe.
