The result of the operator error

I now have my bike back and I again look at the front wheel and cannot believe how bent it is. I felt sad cleaning the bike and taking the wheel to be straightened. It was only a few weeks ago that I had bought it. It would be nice if it was as easy to get my arm sorted out.

I walked into the bike shop, tail between my legs, to be greeted by a cheery hello from Mark Jones, who I have not seen for a couple of years. I explained my problems to him and the mechanic and we proceeded to solve the world’s problems for half an hour.

A Strange life, no more than three hours sleep at a time usually about two hours and then an hour to get back to sleep. This morning it meant I had breakfast at 4:00 am and then woke up at 6:00am. I went for my first run, since the accident, at 7:00 am and I am writing this at 12:00am. I will need a snooze after lunch.

Lynne and I visited Chatsworth on Friday. There was an exhibition of sculpture in the gardens and we waited for the light to be “right” before visiting. I took some photographs with the old camera.

A resting place after the steep ascent to Fairbrook Naze

I cannot work, climb or cycle but I can walk and I have found that it prevents pain. Pain is something I have a lot of at the moment. The management of which consumes all of my time. I am lucky in the fact that the weather has been exceptionally good – warm and sunny. As part of my convalescence I have started walking from the house and eating blackberries.

It was a good idea spoilt by operator error!

One day after flying back from Ireland I flew to Geneva to go mountain biking near Morzine. The next day the weather was perfect and Alan and I got the lift from Les Gets.

Mountain biking near Morzine

It was later that day after fifty plus kilometres of trails that went rapidly down and using ski lifts to gain height and change valleys the operator error took place. I have a story to tell concerning getting off the mountain that is too good for the blog, I will save it until I see you. Xray and hospital details….
