I have been putting this off for a while now. I needed to do it for a number of reasons the main one being that I was having to remove spam comments about breast and penis enlargement.
I found it amusing the first couple of times but deleting spam comments once a week was a chore I could do without. After using the new programme for a week with 50 students I was impressed with the way I could manage this number of websites relatively easily. When I started using the old version for my home weblog it looked a bid jaded.
Up-dating these type of programmes are never easy. I read the documentation, backed up all the weblogs (dump MySQL data, export comments and posts, copy important files and then check that you can resrtore everything) something I had not done before and then pondered whether I should pay to have more than the personal edition. Decided to pay and get on with it. It worked first time apart from there were no images on the programme, the weblog was fine. Now the obvious thing to do would be to check that all the images had copied across correctly. I did not do this as I expected more serious problems! As I paid for the programme I used the support system. Told them the problem and waited. They made a couple of suggestions. It was then that I realised I was being lazy and checked the obvious. It now works.
