This came as quite a surprise
26th October Wednesday
I needed to check my e-mail. This is not an easy matter in this part of France, Blois was the nearest place that had an Internet Cafe and that was over 30 minutes in the car.
Luckily it was a place that we wanted to visit anyway. It was sur la Loire and had its own chateau. A king of the past had his emblem around the place a Porcupine which made quite an interesting combination with the crown.

As we stood in the square and admired the drains of the chateau, see photograph, a strange thing happened windows opened in the building on the other side of the square and dinosaur heads and a tail popped on and appropriate noises were heard. We found out later that this was the museum of magic. Quite complicated hydrolics created the effect and it fascinated the children as well as ourselves. The clever bit was that as it finished, the balcony that the dinosaur had knocked down, returned to its original position, the windows closed and the square returned to the 17th Century or thereabouts. As we looked across the Loire we could see the good weather coming as predicted. It really was about perfect. Summer at the end of October none of us are used to this!
We started from Fontaines en Sologne and went to Cheverny where we separated Lynne and Judy went North to Bracieux I went to Troussan and Fourgeres sur Bievre where I took photographs of the Chateau and a pointing the brickwork. As it got later the light became fantastic for photographs. The ride back was tiring as I tried to reach an average speed of 20K for the trip.
I reached 19.8 kph but had to have a coffee break and fill the water bottle up. Spent a considerable amount of time phoning Lena and Edperson in New Zealand. Necessary expenses
