Getting Out More

In an effort to get out more I set off for Wales at 7:00 am on Tuesday. The plan was to ride some of the prepared single track mountain bike trails that have been created in North Wales.

The Karrimor trail Coed y Brenin

The first one I tried was the Marin trail at Llanrwst. I was impressed as there was exiting riding, no map reading and good views. It was a bit worrying being on my own hurtling down single track in the middle of a forest in freezing conditions. An accident would be a problem, I was careful(ish). I stayed in the Climber’s club hut in Llanberis as there was no water in the North London hut in Capel Currig my first choice.

The weather was cold 1 0r 2 degress at most.

High up on the Karrimor trail in Lord of the Rings country? No that is New Zealand!

Tuesday Marin trail Llanrwst 25K
Wednesday Karrimor trail Coed y Brenin 35K
Thursday Mbr trail Coed y Brenin 22K
Friday Marin trail Llanrwst (I did it again as it was on the way home and fun) 25K

Over one hundred Kilometres off road, the bike needs a service and I am a little stiff in the arms! I am not used to downhill.
