A character building/destroying ride

Looking towards Lady Clough on the way to the Snake Inn
It would have been tempting not to go for a ride today. It was cold, rainy with a spattering of hail. Lynne and I went out with a plan that we promptly forgot when we saw that the Snake road was closed – an opportunity for a bike ride without cars.
Well that was the plan. Car drivers, and I would include myself, do not take much notice of road closed signs so the occasional car went past us only to be turned around by a police car further up the road. Half way up the snake pass Lynne and I had a difference of opinion. I think the snow, the cold and the steepness of the hill made her feel she could be better employed doing other things. She wanted to turn around. On the other hand I fancied a coffee in the snake inn to get warm and then return home. We did neither, we got to within a few hundred yards of the pub and then it started hailing hard. We turned around and got very cold on the way home. It did not help that Lynne found out today that Annie Folkard received diamond earrings for her fiftieth birthday …………..
I hope Florida will heal these differences of opinion!

Hi Mike
This page is showing some coding info in the comments section that looks like it shouldn’t be there!
The coding that I think you can see is the code you are allowed to use eg italic
Nothing to how Al felt when my best friend announced that her husband had bought her a Mercedes sports car for her 50th! Have a great time in the sunshine – we will be thinking of you as we struggle to keep it together over Christmas….
