Ait Benhaddou
We stayed in a hotel in Ouarzazate for the night and planned a ride for the next day. Our intention had been to cycle to Tamdaght and beyond. We left the car at Ait Benhaddou (a tourist spot) after driving past the film sets and headed up the valley. The road turned to piste very quickly and a rough one at that.
We retraced our steps and took an alternative piste that would join the main road. This was a lot of fun and we had lunch sat under a tree watching the shenanigans of a team of men putting a new surface on the road. Better still was a lorry carrying straw, it was overloaded and in danger of tippling over. Lynne and I discussed the pros and cons of living in a world without health and safety laws.

We ended up at the car feeling pleased with ourselves. We had a walk around the tourist spot of Ait Benhaddou which was not as crowded or unpleasant as I had expected. A walk around the town in the evening reminded me that I had a hip problem and walking caused the main problems – I will avoid walking.
