  • Lincoln

The school year has finished. Lynne and I headed for Lincoln to see my parents. Lena and Kate were working.

I was still hyper after a busy end of term so I went running early in the morning on Saturday and on Sunday morning a half past five start allowed me to mess up my father’s television digibox/DVD recording system I was trying to help!

I have been taking photographs of flowers, it assists my memory.

  • Yorkshire Sculpture Park

We combined a number of needs into one trip today. We wanted to see Antony Gormley’s “Field for the British Isles” and the new gallery at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park also a change in our riding pattern was required. I had also promised to get back to give Lena a lift to Cheadle and then to go on to my Headteacher’s leaving party.

  • Ilam – Dovedale

I have made many visits to this area to climb but we were suprised when we rode into Ilam to find a fine house and a very fine cafe. None of us had ever been there before.

There is a fine National Trust Cafe

I have introduced a two stop strategy during the summer months, to use formula one parlance, this allows two cafe stops one for cake and coffee the other for something a little more substantial. (more…)

Peter and Mark with the headgear

Our family party was near Leicester. It is not often that I miss out on the headgear but at this year’s meet I was not in the same class as some other male members of the family.
