Growing old is a process of doors shutting. As time goes by the list of things you cannot do grows longer and one struggles to find activities that meet one’s needs. I have always thought I would not swim if I could surf I will not go walking while I can still climb. I have made the change, with difficulty, from climbing to cycling and my mind has become settled.

The Endcliffe Protest

We cycled in the White Peak and visited a favourite cafe. As you approach Elton there is a particularly pleasing sculptured boulder at the entrance to the village.

Gallarus Oratory an early christian church made with stone but no mortar and does not let water in – built AD 800

What is suprising to me is in all that time no has thought I could use that stone for my garden wall/barn or whatever.
